HFMM Retreat 2018 (pictures)
As far as the missionaries were concerned, this year’s retreat went very smooth. In fact some said it was ‘the best one ever.’ With over 900 members, about 300 attended. Praise God for the team who ministered to 120 kiddos (from babies to youth). I think Children’s Church was at a record high of 50 children. The speaker this year is also a missionary care worker in the States and had served in Africa for 20 years. With all of the political unrest that has been happening here in Honduras the missionaries really need this time of rest, fellowship, prayers, encouragement and peace.
I didn’t understand why it seemed like we were battling all weekend, but then a missionary posted something that made the light bulb go on for me, “When a spirit of lawlessness has been loosed in a country as has been the case here these past two months it unleashes even more lawlessness. Two things: Be aware of your surroundings and pray against this spirit of lawlessness that is at work in Honduras.”
Valentine’s Day Outing (pictures)
The couples from Body of Christ Fellowship had a dinner out for Valentine’s Day this year. Scarleth planned an activity to see how well the couples knew one another. We enjoyed a time of fellowship with lots of laughs.
Missionary Orientation (pictures)
Our missionary class in Siguatepeque, which was cancelled in January due to protests, was rescheduled for the end of February. We always enjoy our road trips to the Language Institute to spend time with the missionaries. I met with a missionary one on one the afternoon before and then we had two classes the next day, ‘What I Wished I Would Have Known.’
