Marcy Fenn

Called At A Young Age Marcy grew up in the local church and strongly desired to serve God since she was a little girl. She was involved in outreach through nursing home ministry, puppets, 5-day clubs, Vacation Bible School (VBS), and served at Camp Good News (NH) as a camp counselor. She loved the slide shows missionaries would bring and show at church, and she longed to go anywhere God wanted her. She always said in her heart, "Here I am Lord, send me." Marcy graduated from Nyack College with a degree in Music Education, violin. After realizing she did not want to teach in the public school setting, she was an office manager at a payroll company, where she developed many of the company's front office and procedural manuals. Upon the birth of their first child, Marcy worked in human resources from home, but after the second child showed up, she remained at home to raise their children (all four of them!). Marcy’s first missions trip was during college. Ironically, she created a skit in college to encourage classmates to go on the trip, using a song called “Answer the Call” by White Heart. Answer the Call Was Birthed Answer the Call Ministries began in 2004 with the heart of helping others answer the call of God on their lives. For four years, Marcy and her husband were itinerant ministers, doing seminars on answering the call, running the race, and hope and occasionally worship nights. They also released two worship Cds, I Overcome and Stand. In 2000, they went on their first mission trip to Honduras (Comayagua), but it wasn't until 2006 that they felt a call to go full-time on the mission field. In January of 2008, they moved to Yamaranguilla, Honduras (Central America) to administrate at a complex (orphanage, church, brigades, radio). Then, 3 months later, they moved to Zambrano. For a year, Marcy taught weekly bible classes to adults and English classes to children and adults. For 2 ½ years, she taught the bible for two hours a week at a neighboring Rehabilitation Center. It was then that the seminar, hands-on type approach to teaching was stirred back up. Shift in Ministry In 2011, a couple of years after Kjell started working at an international school, they moved to Santa Lucia (just outside of Tegucigalpa, Honduras). This was when Marcy’s ministry shifted from working with Hondurans to North American missionaries. She volunteered at the Honduran Fellowship of Missionaries and Ministries (HFMM) and was the director of member care. She set up the Facebook fanpage and closed groups for sharing information and encouragement. In addition, the group contains files of frequently asked information (from food to insurance to repairs). She also surveyed missionary members to find out how to better serve them. In 2012, she offered the Run the Race Seminar to missionaries at the HFMM annual retreat in March and missionaries in Roatan and La Moskitia in the fall. In 2013, this expanded to include short-term teams from Adventures in Missions (AIM) in a one-day seminar and a 4-week discipleship format. Two Talks At the end of 2013, she attended and began to offer two missionary talks: Change / Transition and Cultural Adjustment. These were offered at the 2014 HFMM Retreat and throughout the year at the US Embassy. As a missionary working with missionaries, she knew the training and skills necessary for the job, but they were not always readily available. For years, she formulated what types of seminars and workshops would benefit missionaries and ministries (leaders and staff) – creating, finding, and passing along links, charts, and resources to help. This led to the creation of her YouTube Channel, where she could offer missionary talks and post other videos to help missionaries and ministries.Training and Care Center Was Birthed In the spring of 2014, the vision for the Answer the Call Training and Care Center was conceived. At that time, Marcy went to Heartstream Resources to take a missionary member care course. Then, she began creating curriculum for a missionary training center while caring for missionaries at the care center (which opened in September of 2014). She equipped missionaries for the work of the ministry through training and care. The Answer the Call Training and Care Center motto was: Equip. Coach. Restore.Back Stateside In 2018, a new season was sensed, and by the summer of 2019, Marcy and their family moved back to the States (this time to Pennsylvania). For a few years, she continued to visit Honduras for the annual missionary retreat and sent care packages to missionary kids from Honduras who are now in the States. She served in the local church through Life Classes, Missions Committee, Worship, and Teaching.Missionary Podcast In 2022, Marcy created 52 podcasts for missionaries (Anchor, Spotify, Website List). SchoolIn 2022, Marcy began an MDIV program in Missiology. After moving to Virginia in 2024, she transferred her credits and changed her degree program to an MDIV in Leadership.
